The Strawberry Traffic Jam is a Parents’ Choice Award-Winning children’s band that creates music, which introduces sophisticated kids to musical styles from around the world, ranging from country to tango and rock to African rhythms.
The band is partnered with Ken Kragen who has not only managed such superstars as Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, and The BeeGees, but has also produced the song, “We Are The World” with Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones.
The Strawberry Traffic Jam recently teamed up with South African multi-instrumentalist, Tony Cedras, and members of the cast of Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway to release their album, Zebra Cadabra, which is a collection of family-friendly songs influenced by Africa’s music and culture. Tony Cedras’s impressive credits include recording and touring with Paul Simon, Harry Belafonte and African musical icons, Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba.
The Strawberry Traffic Jam’s best-selling albums include: Even the Monkeys Fall Out of the Trees, Zebra Cadabra, Songs For Halloween, and Spaghetti Confetti – which you can check out at www.StrawberryTrafficJam.com. Forthcoming albums include country, Latin, and Christmas music.
The band contributes part of all music proceeds to its two main charity partners, Books For Kids and WHY Hunger, the latter of which was started 30 years ago by the famous musician, Harry Chapin, and is supported by musicians, including: Bruce Springsteen, Carlos Santa, Chicago, and Jackson Browne. In 2008, The Strawberry Traffic Jam was the first children’s band named as one of the charity’s “Artists Against Hunger.”
The band currently is working on its seventh album, which is titled The Best of The Strawberry Traffic Jam. They are in discussions with a wide range of recording artists who will cover versions of the band’s most popular songs for this 10th year anniversary album, with all proceeds going to charities of the participating recording artists’ choice.
